Christian, già che ci siamo ti chiedo una cosa: su questo pc ho già 
funzionante debian da un po' di tempo, il kernel è sempre un 2.6.14 
compilato da me sempre senza initrd, con quasi tutto incluso 
staticamente: l'unico problema che ho è che i video da divx xvid ogm e 
maggiormente DVD si vedono a scatti ...
questo mi fa pensare ad una errata selezione di qualche modulo del 
kernel, perchè xorg mi sembra configurato bene...
nel dubbio ti allego il file xorg.conf così magari se ci trovi qualche 
cappelletto avanzato da Natale me lo fai notare ;)
